Personal Unconscious

Perceptions, thoughts, feelings that are easily retrieved

Repressed or forgotten individual experiences

Organized into complexes

Universal thoughts forms or predispositions to respond

Expressed as archetypes

Difference between Collective and Personal Unconscious

Personal - Unique for each individual 

Collective - is shared, "transpersonal" meaning it extends accross persons

Complex

An organized groupu of thought, feeling and memories about a particular concept.

Evil side of us; opposite of persona and ego

Dark side and can be projected onto others

Denying shadow involves self-deceit
