Wortschatzstory "Aussehen" The Miller family
Peter Miller‘s look is awful. He looks like a bad guy. His wife Gaby is beautiful. She is a beauty. And his daughter Jamie is pretty. At 14 she’s already as tall as her father. Peter is big like a heavyweight boxer. He is neither short nor small.
Peter’s appearance is bad. He isn’t a handsome/good-looking Man. He is ugly. But his figure is attractive. He is neither fat nor slim. He has a pale skin, blond hair with curls and a beard.
Wortschatzstory "Geist und Verstand"
Gaby Miller has a very critical mind. She thinks a lot. She is interested in politics and history. She understands Zusammenhänge in der Politik und in der Geschichte. She remembered die Daten der Geschichte. She is a very intelligent woman. I think, she has an intelligence, that is over the average.
Peter and Gaby Miller’s daughter is clever like her Mum. She has lots of interests. My first impression was that she has a good memory for faces but a bad one for names. She is a keen student but not too keen on homework. As a child she has a lot of imagination. Her parents considered that she should change school. Jamie saw and realized that she has to become more skilful in den Schulfächern. Her parents told her: Don’t be mad/stupid! Don’t be a fool! Pack deine Chance!
Wortschatzstory "Gesundheit und Krankheit"
Health is an important thing. We can’t buy it. We can be well and strong. But suddenly we can become ill and weak and can be sick perhaps. After an accident Jim has a wound. It hurts. He suffers pain. The wound is not healed up yet.
If you get a flu, you have a sore throat, a cold, a cough, headaches and a temperature/fever and you tremble. A flu is a infectious disease. It isn’t a mental illness. It is a physical illness. It is a infection. You can stay healthy. For example you can keep fit by jogging every day. You can do body-building to build up your (physical) strength. After a flu, you recover after about a week.
