difficult to differentiate pathological anxiety from normal general anxiety
- number of circumstances & severity
- Worry: focus expecting negative outcomes, thoughts uncontrollable, sustaining (maintenance!) fear/anxiety, problem when pervaise, time consuming, uncontrollable, about minor matters, biased for neg. threat
(worry could be functional? to solve future-problem, suppress internal responses to threat cues / alarm-prompt-preparation) -> core problem of GAD may be fear of emotional experience in general
