At OMEGA, what example coordinations with APP do exist regarding LVP (CAT II/III operations)?
- departing acft commenced take-off roll before inbound has passed 6 NM final RWY 32
- sensitive area to be vacated before inbound has reached 2 NM final RWY 32
What's the name of a procedure during LVD?
Guided take-off
What must be secured during guided take-off?
- LOC sensitive area clear until departing acft has overflown antenna
- no subsequent take-off until preceeding departure has overflown LOC antenna
- sensitive area behind may be infringed (line-up, cross etc.)
Do all LVD involve guided take-offs?
No
LVD involving guided take-offs are not permitted if ...... ? (6)
- LOC out of CAT II/III tolerance
- LOC critical/sensitive area not vacated
- failure of ILS ground monitoring system
- failure of far-field monitor
- failure of LOC standby transmitter

What should you do afer aircraft has landed in CAT II/III to continue operations?
ask to report runway vacated (unless positively oserved on ASDE)
When shall the termination phase be initiated?
- when RVR reaches 550m or greater,
- vertical visibility and ceiling is 200ft or greater,
- condition are indicating sustained improvement
What is the minimum equipment required during CAT II operations?
1 LOC, 1 GP, 1 DME
What is the minimum equipment required during CAT III operations?
2 LOC, 2 GP, 2 DME

Who has to be updated immediately about any deficiency or downgrading of operations? How should it be reported?

For what reasons are operations during LVP downgraded?
- minimum required equipment not available
- aircraft or vehicle within any cirital area of ILS
- aircraft or vehicle within sensitive area of ILS, when arriving acft is less than 2 NM from rwy threshold
- aircraft or vehicle is within sensitive area of LOC, between position where acft will commence a LVD and LOC antenna
In what exception can an aircraft/vehicle be in the ILS sensitive area when arriving acft is closer than 2 NM?
Operations in low visibility shall not be considered downgraded if an obstructing aircraft or vehicle will vacate the sensitive area before the approaching aircraft passes a position 1 NM from touchdown.

What if an aircraft requests practice CAT II/III approach?
approve,
LVP need not be applied, departing or preceeding landing aircraft may disturb ILS signals
-> inform flight crew of this possibility: "Low Visibility Procedures not applied"
