broadly

1. generally (In general terms) ex. Broadly speaking...

2. mostly (for the most part) ex. it is broadly based on the german prototype

ex. The fire caused considerable damage to the church

Before a noun the amphasise the large level or amount of something

ex. We wakled a good distance today

very large in size, amount or number

ex. massive scale

mere

used to emphasise that something is not large or important

ex. The plane crashed mere minutes after take-off

Deutsch: läppisch

minute

extremely small

ex. a minute amount/quantity

overwhelming 

very great or large

ex. overwhelming generosity

sheer

1. used before noun to emphasise how very great/important a feeling is

ex. sheer nonsene, sheer coincidence

2. used to express the cause of something happening because of a big amoint of people/things

ex. by sheer force of numbers

sizeable

ex. a sizeable house/amount/area

Deutsch: ziemlich gross

slight

small in degree or amount

ex. a slight improvement

substantial

large in size, value or importance

existing or happening in many places

ex. widespread flooding
