The purpose of the FD system is /are:

1) give the position of the aircraft according to radioelectric axis

2) give the position of the aircraft to waypoint 

3) to aid the pilot when fyling manually 

Command bars of the flight director may be present on the :

1) HSI

2) CDU

3) ADI 

The flight director is engaged in the heading select mode (HDG SEL) with heading 180 selected. When the actual heading of your aircraft is 160, the vertical bar of the FD;

The flight director (FD) provides information for the pilot:

3) the correction on the bank to be applied to join and follows the localzer axis
