Entity

Person/Organization that acts with its own will and directives in the considered context.

User

A user is an entity that is a person.

System

A ystem or sub-ssystem is component of an overall system which is treated as a unit at the considered level of abstraction.

Channel

A system that transports messages between two designated end-points.

Attacker/Adversary

An entity acting maliciously, trying to obtain an illegitimate advantage or do some type of harm.

Threat

Any type of general risk of unwanted ifluence on a system.

Types of threats

Intentional threats / Accidential threats

Intentional threats

Threats orginating from an intelligent adversary, often targeted at the weakest point of a system.

Accidential threats

Threats due to unforeseen events, system errors or unexpected, but non-malicious user behaviour.
