The concentration of NaCl outside the cell is 2x higher than inside. How can the Na-concentration inside be reduced?

Which organell is not surrounded by a membrane?

In which cellular components is starch stored?

Which organell contains no own DNA?

Which pant shows seismonastic movement?

Which of the following stays alive when mature?

What is the main function of roots? – What differentiates them from shots?

Main function: anchoring the plant in the soil, water + mineral nutrient uptake. Roots do not do photosynthesis, roots are under the ground, shoots are above ground.

What is a rhizome?

Subterranean thick shoot that serves as storage- and hibernating organ. Leaves are present but strongly reduced.

How is the apical meristem protected in shoots and in roots?

In shoots: apical meristem is protected in buds by leaves. In roots: it is protected by the root cap.

How is the dead bark formed in trees?

It is formed through secondary thickness growth. Composed of one or several cork layers and other tissues in between.
