Airport design requirements
Each Contracting State shall ensure that airport design requirements, including architectural and infrastructure-related requirements necessary for the implementation of the security measures in the national civil aviation security program are integrated into the design and construction of new facilities and alterations to existing facilities at airports.

Screening of persons other than passengers
Persons other than passengers shall be screened by one of the following means:
- hand search (PHS)
- walk-through metal detection equipment (WTMD)
- explosive detection dogs (EDD)
- explosive trace detection (ETD) equipment
- security scanners which do not use ionising radiation
- explosive trace detection (ETD) equipment combined with hand held metal detection (HHMD) equipment
Screening of items carried by persons other than passengers
Items carried by persons other than passengers shall be screened by one of the following means:
- hand search
- x-ray equipment
- explosive detection systems {EDS) equipment
- explosive detection dogs
- explosive trace detection {ETD) equipment
Screening of person other than passengers and items carried
General
- screened on a continuous random basis, the frequency shall be established by the appropriate authority on the basis of a risk assessment
- Can be exempted from screening if escorted
Landside Security
Security measures are established for landside areas to mitigate the risk of and to prevent possible acts of unlawful interference based on risk assessment
Surveillance, Patrols and other physical controls
Surveillance or patrols shall be undertaken in order to monitor:
- Boundaries
- Areas of, and in proximity of, terminal etc.
- Display and validity of persons identification card
- hBAG, CGO, MAIL
- frequency and means --> based on risk assessment approved by authority
- size of airport, number of OPS
- layout of airport
- limitations of surveillance

In-flight Supplies
Protection / Security controls
- appoint a person responsible for security
- ensure that persons with access to in in-flight supplies receive security awareness training
- prevent unauthorised access to its premises and in in-flight supplies; and
- apply tamper tamper-evident seals to, or physically protect, all vehicles and/or containers that transport in in-flight supplies.
