The ventilation includes:

a) avionics + batteries b) lavatories and galleys

FSC 

FSC (Fan speed Controller)

Function of the ventilation

two electric fans continuously to force the circulation of cooling air è Controlled by the FSC (Fan speed Controller)

Skin exchange inlet and outlet bypass valves

Skin exchange inlet and outlet bypass valves: enable air to circuit between the avionics bay and the space under the cargo compartment floor.

Air conditioning inlet valve

  • opens to enable the air conditioning circuit to supply fresh air to the avionics bay 

Skin exchange isolation valve

the valve connects or isolates the skin heat exchanger

 

AEVC

Avionics equipment ventilation controller (AEVC): AEVC controls the operation of all fans and valves in the avionics ventilation system 

Open circuit: on ground threshold (on ground and not TO thrust)

Öffnet ab +12 Grad und schliesst unter +9 Grad 

Closed circuit: inflight threshold Öffnet ab

Closed circuit: inflight threshold Öffnet ab +35 Grad und schliesst unter +32 Grad 

Blower or Extract Fault

when pb set to OVRD the system is in closed circuit configuration and adds from  the air conditioning system

BLOWER to OVRD

the blower fan is stopped and the extract fan continuous to run

Extract to OVRD: both fan continuous to run 

Extract to OVRD: both fan continuous to run 

Controller Failure: 

same as smoke, but the skin exchange isolation valve stays open => the inlet and skin exchange stays in the position as they stand by the failure è Extract fan keeps running

 

Smoke configuration

the air conditioning system supplies cooling air which is then exhausted overboard => BLOWER fan stops

Battery ventilation: 

Battery ventilation: a venture in the skin of the aircraft draws air from the space around the batteries and cents it overboard. The resulting airflow ventilations the batteries. 

Lavatory and Galley

an extraction fan draws ambient cabin air through the lavatories and galley and exhausts it near the outflow valve => Extraction fan runs continually when electric power is available

OVRD pb

system goes to the closed circuit configuration
