Rückfluss when Fuel Schalter auf Emergency ist? Auf was muss mann achten?

45 USG/h (170 l/h) ==> The fuel valve must be switched back to the NORMAL position before the auxiliary tank indication reads zero!

How many fuel pump are installed?

2 parallel independent low pressure fuel pumps installed => Switching from ECU A and B the two independent electrical fuel pumps are switched as well

2 tank vents

a) Check valve with capillary: allows air to enter teh tank but prevents flow of fuel to the  outside => equalize teh air pressure during the climb

b) pressure relief valve: protects the tank against high pressure if the tank will be overfilled

Outlet valve?

In each tank a coarse filter (finger filter) is fitted before the outlet =>To allow dreaming (Entwässern) the tank at the lowest pint of the fuel tank

drain

Alternate Means for Fuel Quantity Indication => position is marked on the wing => is in the bag on the rear side of the pilot seat!

Cooling system is liquid cooled. es besteht aus?

1. radiator circuit ( Coolant heat exchanger): only open during hot coolant temperatures => Engine will warm up quickly

2. Bypass circuit (cabin heat exchanger): a coolant to air het exchanger = cabin heat

What's that?

Temp. Halten

What is that

radiator circuit ( Coolant heat exchanger): only open during hot coolant temperatures => Engine will warm up quickly

what's that

Bypass circuit

Coolant expansion tank: was macht der?

Coolant expansion tank allows coolant expansion and pressure adjustment

Turbo charger System: wie funktioniert das?

1. Compressor(Charger) compressed the air

2. Intercooler cooled it down = higher desnity => increases engine efficiency

3. Exhaust system collects exhaust gases and feed them to the turbine of the turbo charger

4. behind the turbine the exhausted gases are guides through an exhaust pipe

Oil pressure up; what hapens to the pitch of teh propeller?

Oil pressure up => pitch: up ==> RPM: down

Oil pressure down; what hapens to the pitch of the propeller?

Oil pressure down => Pich: down => RPM Up

2 separte oil systems

1. Lubrication Systems (Engine an Turbo Charger )

2. Gearbox and propeller Governor System

1. Lubrication Systems (Engine an Turbo Charger ) is cooled by ?

Is a wet sump lubrication ==> Warten eine Zeit bis Oil zurück fliesst!  Oil is cooled by a separate cooler on the outside of the engine.

2. Gearbox and propeller Governor System

lubricates the gear and severs the governor system and teh regulation of the propeller ==> Inspection glass

Electrical System DA 40 besteht aus?

DA 40 has a 28 Volt DC system

1. Power generation 2. Storage 3. Distribution (Verteilung) 4. Consumers

DA 40 has a 28 Volt DC system

1. Power generation whats that?

70 Ampère alternator ==> Generator

In a main batterfy failure==> ENGINE MASTER connects the ECU backup battery to the alternator voltage regulator via a 10 A fuse  ==> Only ECU B kann auch die Backupbattery zugreifen

DA 40 has a 28 Volt DC system

2. Storage ?

Main battery is stored in a 24 V, => A lead battery mounted behind the baggage compartment => Controlled by the ELECTRIC MASTER

DA 40 has a 28 Volt DC system

3. Distribution (Verteilung)

Electrical power is distributed via a hot battery bus, battery bus 1 and 2, ECU Bus, main bis, essential bus and the avionic bus

Hot battery bus

the hot battery bus is drectly connected to the main battery installed in the relay junction box => Power to the accessory (zusätzlich)power plug  and the ELT

Battery Bus 1

connected to the main battery via the battery relay => controlled by the ELECTRIC MASTER key switch

=> power to teh battery bus 2 and heavy duty power to the starter

==> connected to the power input line of teh external power plug

Main Bus

Put the AVIONIC MASTER on to connect the main bus to the avionic bus => Separates the main bus from the battery bus  => Main bus has no longer power !

Essential bus

essential is connected to the main bus => Normal

AVIONIC MASTER on => connecting essential bus to the avionic bus

ESSENTIAL BUS: Must be set on for separation of the essential bus from the main bus => the essential bus is then connected to the battery bus 2 which provides battery power for a limited time to the equipment essential for a safe landing

DA 40 has a 28 Volt DC system

 4. Consumers

Individual consumers (Radio, fuel transfer etc.) connectey to the bus via automatic circuit breakers

ECU operating hours or in case of a failure the ECU with better engine control capability

there are filters in the systems => Pitot is electrically heated

Is there an alternate static valve?

an alternate static valve is in the cabin => used by a failure of the static system

Stall warning?

there is an orifice on the left wing leading edge (red ring) => Activates a horn ( Schlauch ins Cockpit = Trumpet) Horn gets louder when closer the stalling speed => Gibt Unterdruck

Where is the PTT Knopf?

the push to talk button is on the control stick

A warning in G100 is displayed as?

warning = repeating tone and the legend turns red and flash

A caution in G100 is displayed as?

caution is yellow and a single tone

PFD

Primary Flight Display

MFD

Multi-Function Display

messages in G100 are shown in

white

How can you startthe emergency use of the PFD?

pressing the DISPLAY BACKUP button on the audio panel
