Short description of the process runnig at T2 laboratories: reaction euqtions.

What went wrong?

Give the definitions of the power and heat balance. Also use the appropriate formulas and dont forget providing the units of measure

How does diazotationwork and what does "Tragweite" stand for?

Give a short and simplified version of the heat balance. How is it described graphically and how are the corresponding diagrams called?

What is the definition of the power accumulation? Write downthe corresponding formula

Give the explanations of the terms presented below

1) Reaction enthalpy: The standard enthalpy of reaction is the enthalpy change that occurs in a system when matter is transformed by a given chemical reaction, when all reactants and products are in their standard states. Unit: typically J/mol

2) dTad: Termperature change under adiabatic conditions. Expressed in K. Calculated as Q/cp

3) TMRad: Time to maximum reactionrate under adiabatic conditions. Oftentimes it is the time until runaway occurs

4) Onset temperature Texo: This is the temperature on the dynamic DSC at which the very first evolution of the heat can be detected.

5) Kühlleistung = heat removal qex

6) Thermische leistung = reaction heat -> shows how much heat energy evolves during the reaction per time unit

7) Specific reaction heat: heat evolved int he course of the reaction. q is usually expressed in J/g

8) Specific heat capacity: Informally, it is the amount of energy that must be added, in the form of heat, to one unit of mass of the substance in order to cause an increase of one unit in its temperature. Units = [J/(K kg)]

Draw the graphs and explain the main cases of the heat balance that can happen in a process

Draw the diagram describing a typical cooling breakdown scenario.
