Because it determines the success of producing benefits for the owners of the organization.

What dimensions of performance beyond financial are included in the triple bottom line?

social, environmental

How does corporate social responsibility (CSR) relate to the triple bottom line?

Organizations consider the interests of society by taking responsibility of their activities on
communities, employees, and the environment.

How are financial performance and CSR related?

It depends how the customers perceive the CSR practices undertaken by the organization. If the
customers perceive that the products and services are environmentally friendly for example
they might pay premium prices for these products of services.

What is in-role performance?

What is extra-role performance?

Things that add value but are not part of the job description.

What is the relationship between extra-role performance and organizational citizenship

Since OCB is voluntary behavior employees perform to help the organization, the extra role

not part of the job description is itself a voluntary behavior to help the organization.

Giving negative feedback with the purpose of improving performance may be viewed as a

When people believe that a behavior is common and normal, they may repeat that behavior
more frequently. Sometimes this can lead to unethical or illegal behaviors. Managers should
pay attention to the first impressions they create.

What is the difference between job satisfaction and organizational commitment? How do the
two concepts relate to one another?

Job satisfaction refers to the feelings people have towards their job whereas organizational
commitment refers to the emotional attachment people have toward the company they work
for. Things that make us happy in our job make us more committed to the company as well.

In your opinion, of the factors that influence work attitudes, which three are the most
important in making people dissatisfied with their jobs? Which three are the most important
relating to organizational commitment?

In my opinion the three factors which make people dissatisfied with their job are the amount of
stress their workplace creates, when employees perceive that there is no fair organizational
justice and bad or not friendly work relationships.
The tree factors related to organizational commitment are the job characteristics, job
environment and good work relationships.

Do you think making employees happier at work is a good way of motivating people? When
would high satisfaction not be related to high performance?

Yes definitely, making employees happy in their workplace will raise their motivation and
commitment towards the organization. High satisfaction in terms of thinking that you are the
best and you can do the job in a short amount of time or using less resources can lead to a low
performance.

you think would be helpful?

By testing their knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics of the person in the area

Test if the personalities, values, goals, and other characteristics match those of the

employees?

By making sure these persons further develop their job and organization fit to best match the
those of the company.

Performance refers to the level which an employee successfully fulfills the factors included in

employees perform to help others and benefit the organization.

Health reasons, work-life balance, poor work attitudes.

How can companies minimize the level of absenteeism that takes place?

Programs aimed to keep the workers healthy, using wellness programs etc.

Corporations can implement initiatives that mimic social movements, which allow the people
down the line to choose a process, figure out what and where the problems are, work together
to come up with solutions and put the solutions to work.

How would you use a social network to solve a work-related task?

Using the social network to find people who are the best candidates to perform the workrelated
task in hand by considering their skills, interests, and knowledge.
